You can teach Siri how to pronounce names in iOS 7

Does Siri pronounce your name incorrectly? In iOS 7, you will finally be able to tell Siri it is pronouncing your name wrong.

9to5Mac reports that Siri will also prompt you if it has trouble pronouncing a name and request you to teach it how to say it.

During the teaching process, it will prompt you to say the name and then prompt you to select from one of options by repeating the name based on how you pronounced it. Once you select the option, it will start pronouncing the name correctly.

9to5Mac also claims that you can simply say “That’s not how you pronounce [any name]” to go through the teaching process.

It looks like Siri is finally growing up. It will be interesting to see if it will finally come out of beta when iOS 7 is released or whether will continue to hide behind the beta tag for Siri’s inaccuracies.
