Windows 8 Power User Menu

Windows 8 includes a new power user menu in Windows 8 RTM and further enhanced in Windows 8.1 that allows advanced users to quickly jump to common administrative interfaces. Program and Features, Event View, Device Manager, Network Connections and more are all available in this new administrative interface.

Administrators often have a difficult time working with Windows 8 as getting to certain control interfaces is confusing or sometimes accessable only via command line.  That is why I'm excited about the Power User menu because it offers everything that I need to administrate my PC.
  • Programs and Features
  • Power Options
  • Event Viewer
  • System
  • Device manager
  • Network Connections
  • Disk Management
  • Computer Management
  • Windows PowerShell
  • Windows PowerShell (Admin)
  • Task Manager
  • Control Panel
  • File Explorer
  • Search
  • Run
  • Shut down
  • Desktop
The Windows 8 Power User menu can be accessed two different ways:
  1. Right click on the Start Menu button/pop up.
  2. Hold down the Windows Key + X.
