Install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8

 

Windows 8 includes the .NET Framework 4.5 installed by default but versions 3.5 and older are no longer included. Chances are you will have apps that need older versions of .NET to run.  This article will help you enable the .NET Framework 3.5 which will also install .NET 3.0 and 2.0.

1. Bring up the Start Screen and key in Windows Features


2. Select Turn Windows features on or off under Settings.


3. On the Windows Features screen select .Net Framework 35 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) and click OK.


4. Select Download files from Windows Update.

After the files are automatically downloaded, .Net Framework 3.5 will be installed.
